Cameron Smith is resting an injured hip and will sit out this week’s BMW Championship, with the reigning Open champion sitting at No.3 in the FedEx Cup standings.
That leaves four Australians at Wilmington Country Club in Wilmington, Delaware just outside Philadelphia. All four Australians are outside the top 30 on the FedEx Cup standings and will need to play their way into next week’s Tour Championship finale in Atlanta. Adam Scott
His season so far: Scott recorded his fourth top-10 of season with a tie for fifth at last week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis. Also bagged a tie for 15th at the Open Championship at St Andrews.

Minimum BMW Championship finish needed: 23rd
Cam Davis
His season so far: The Sydney native has had five top-10s, including tie for third at the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head.
Current FedEx Cup rank: 51
Minimum BMW Championship finish needed: 14th
Lucas Herbert
His season so far: The Bendigo native won the Bermuda Championship in November, which was only his third tournament as a PGA Tour member. Herbert also had top-15s at two Majors this year – the PGA and the Open Championship.

Minimum BMW Championship finish needed: 12th
Marc Leishman
His season so far: Leishman is searching for a top 10 result and will need one to advance to East Lake. Leishman has not had a top-10 since January, at the Tournament of Champions. He has three total top 10s this season.
