Christiaan Bezuidenhout – the world’s 44th-ranked golfer and number-one most difficult name for golf writers to spell – had a great opening round at the BMW PGA Championship on Thursday.
He fired an eight-under 64, including seven birdies and an eagle, capping the day with this absolutely perfect right-to-left swinger that put him in a tie for the lead heading into Friday.
Good stuff, right? Well, that’s only the half of it. The highlight of Bezuidenhout’s first round actually came an hour or two earlier, when he swished this incredible greenside chip like Steph Curry putting up a jumper from the logo. You’re a wizard, Harry Christiaan!
Honestly, we can’t stop watching. It’s at once hypnotic and electrifying. It’s one of those real highlights that’s so good it looks fake. It’s a mixture of touch and luck that is at once aspirational and relatable.
On that note, we have to go watch this a million more times. See you never.
