PINEHURST, N.C. — Few things are guaranteed at a major championship, but one thing you can always count on is a good merch tent. This year, we perused the hundreds of items at the 2024 U.S. Open merch center and came up with our favorites—some of which can be purchased on the USGA’s website from the comfort of your home.

First on the list is this figurine of Pinehurst’s iconic Putter Boy. Ringing in at $125, this small statue is a great way to commemorate your trip to the U.S. Open and would be the perfect addition to your bookshelf or desk. Predicting this could give the Masters gnome a run for its money.

Next up is a simple retro-style U.S. Open hat. Navy hats are a staple for any wardrobe and this classic cap is almost reminiscent of the one Tiger Woods wore during the U.S. Amateur in 1996 at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.

These U.S. Open posters by Lee Wybranski have become a must-have item over the years. While in the U.S. Open merch tent, fans were saying how they look forward to snagging one each time they attend a U.S. Open as it’s their favorite way to remember events they’ve attended.

By far the coolest item on this list is a customizable Seamus Golf ball marker. While walking through the merch tent we were able to snag a video you can watch above of a fan stamping his initials into a copper ball marker. With this in your bag, you’ll be reminded of the good memories you made at the U.S. Open, even, when your game is in a bad spot.

This shirt from Johnny O features mini Jordan shoes all over it to celebrate Michael Jordan, who is both a North Carolina native and a big-time golfer. As an added bonus the Carolina Blue colorway makes a great addition to any regular rotation.

A sneaky selection for the week is this leather-handled tote. Made from a durable canvas fabric, this roomy bag is perfect for lugging around your essentials and then some. Plus, it will look good on your arm walking around the property and long after you’ve left Pinehurst.

The accessories from Smathers and Branson are always a big-ticket item. The needlepoint throw pillow is for fans that are willing to spend a bit more. At $220 their pillow will look great sitting on your couch long after Pinehurst hosts its next U.S. Open in 2034. For those who may not want to spend as much, we recommend the needlepoint hat with the Putter Boy logo.

An honorable mention in this list is the “Hush Y’all” wood magnet from Signs by the Sea. It’s a fun twist on the traditional “Quiet Please” signs you see on the course and a nice way to pay homage to the Southern state of mind in North Carolina.

You can’t leave a U.S. Open without a good T-shirt, and this one is a hot commodity. The vintage look and soft cotton blend make this a great go-to on hot days—of which there will be plenty this week.
