If fortune favours the bold, then Cameron Smith deserves his Players Championship win after the tee shot he hit on the scariest hole at TPC Sawgrass – the island-green 17th.
Cameron Smith is off to quite the start in 2022. He took the first event of the year at the winners-only Sentry Tournament of Champions, then fashioned a wild final-round 66 to win the Players Championship.
If Netflix was hoping for drama in the upcoming PGA Tour docuseries, the streaming service got all of it and then some from the group of Daniel Berger, Viktor Hovland and Joel Dahmen in the 16th fairway on Monday at TPC Sawgrass.
His play continues to encourage, and there’s no doubt in his mind he’s going to seal the deal in a US PGA Tour event some time in the future. Maybe even the very near future.
