When the PGA of America announced on Wednesday that it would allow distance-measuring devices in its Major championships, including at this year’s PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, one of the main tenets of the decision was that it would help speed up play.
The PGA of America will permit the use of distance-measuring devices during play in its 2021 Major championships, including the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island (May 20-23).
Distance measuring devices have become standard issue equipment for average golfers, state amateur events and even R&A and USGA competitions. Now, it seems the US PGA Tour might be ready to join the trend.
