Billy Horschel hit two greens in regulation Thursday at the Memorial Tournament – or as many times as he hit his ball in a single stroke during a miserable round that had the defending champion fighting back tears in the aftermath.
This week during the Memorial’s practice rounds, Scott debuted a custom set of muscleback blade irons from Miura, the legendary forging house in Japan led by founder Katsuhiro Miura, whom the Japanese golf media once labelled as having “the hands of God.”
DeChambeau was already having a wild round, with five birdies and five bogeys on his card through 14 holes, while sitting comfortably inside the cut line at one over for the tournament. He then stepped to the par-5 15th tee and, simply put, everything unravelled.
