The hilarious reason Sahith Theegala ‘almost fainted’ after saying hello to Tiger Woods Wednesday night

The Masters, the Hero World Challenge is not. But it is still a big deal, especially for a younger player like Sahith Theegala, to tee it up in a tournament hosted by his hero Tiger Woods that features just 20 of the best players in the world. It’s one of the many ways to know you’ve “made it” in professional golf.

You’ve truly made it, though, when you’re literal boys with Woods, something Theegala got a taste of Wednesday evening at a pre-tournament event in the Bahamas. Theegala, who has met Woods plenty of times before (even got unexpectedly bear-hugged by him once), was more excited than usual after seeing him on the eve of the event. So excited that he text his girlfriend Julianna Chan, who, naturally, shared the exchange on her Instagram story. 

While it’s certainly nice to get a birthday wish from the GOAT (Theegala turned 27 on Wednesday), the real reason Theegala nearly fainted had to be the real life playing out of the “big dog” meme that Woods made famous at last year’s PNC Father/Son Challenge. 

The big dog dap up in the flesh. A birthday present Theegala will never forget.
