The end of the year is a great time to take stock of your financial situation. You know, get those pesky final expense reports in and then assess just how much you should splurge on Christmas presents, possibly for yourself. And PGA Tour golfers are no different.
At the end of last year, we saw Ben Griffin sum up how much it costs to play golf for a living. And last month, caddie Bryan Kopsick let everyone know how much loopers make out there. Well, regular loopers, that is. Ted Scott is set on Christmas gifts for the rest of his life after the year Scottie Scheffler had.
That leads us to Michael Kim. Always one to give fans great insight into life on tour, the 2018 John Deere Classic winner provided his eye-popping travel expenses total for 2024. Have a look:
😅 This is my spending on flights and hotels for 30 tournaments in 2024. Zero dollars spent on private flights, and rarely business class. Can’t imagine some of the top guys’ costs… At least I’m racking up some CC points! pic.twitter.com/tnqLHRl2fF

Yep, that’s $US92,698.11 ($145k!) on flights and hotels alone. Pretty wild. Although, even wilder is that total would almost certainly be on the lower end on tour, especially for someone who played in 30 events.

You sure are, Michael. And as he noted, he actually spent more the previous year due to playing abroad in the Open Championship.
Last yr was a touch higher due to me going to the Open Championship and playing 32 events
