In a rally packed with anticipation ahead of the upcoming US Presidential election, Donald Trump delivered a speech that no one saw coming.
Speaking in Latrobe, Pennsylvania – the birthplace of golf legend Arnold Palmer — Trump’s campaign hinted that he would outline his closing arguments for the race. However, the former president kicked off the night with an unexpected and eyebrow-raising tribute to Palmer, leaving both golf fans and political pundits buzzing on social media.
For 12 minutes, Trump paid homage to Palmer, reminiscing about the iconic golfer’s legacy in his hometown. While politicians often praise Palmer when visiting Latrobe, Trump took it to a strange new level, apparently addressing The King’s genitalia.
Watch here:
“Arnold Palmer was all man, and I say that with all due respect to women,” Trump began. “This is a guy that was all man.”
The comments quickly took a bizarre turn as Trump recounted locker room stories about Palmer. “When he took the showers with other pros, they came out of there. They said, ‘Oh my God. That’s unbelievable,’” Trump said, laughing. “I had to say it. We have women that are highly sophisticated here, but they used to look at Arnold as a man.”
The remarks, meant as praise, left many wondering if Trump’s attempt to honour Palmer had gone too far. Golfers revere Palmer for his skill, sportsmanship, and charm, but Trump’s unusual approach to discussing the legend’s legacy has stirred plenty of conversation online – not all of it positive.
As Election Day looms, Trump’s Latrobe rally may be remembered more for its unexpected detour into golf locker room lore than any political message.
