What you are about to watch is 100 percent real and set to have the golf ball roll-back squad running for their lives.
New Zealand long-drive superstar Phillis Meti, fresh off winning her third Volvik World Long Drive Championship, was back in action this week at the “AK-Chin Smash in the Sun” in the Arizona desert of Phoenix.
And it didn’t take long for the Auckland powerhouse to leave her mark on the 2019 World Long Drive season opener, pounding a ridiculous 413-yard (378 metres) drive to not only secure the title but set a new record for the longest drive ever recorded in the Women’s Division at a World Long Drive competition, eclipsing Meti’s own previous record of 406 yards (2017 Mile High Showdown).

“It hasn’t really even sunk in,” said Meti. “I didn’t even think that was possible. That’s probably the fastest I’ve ever swung it to be honest. Hopefully I can stay on this path and keep riding the rollercoaster for the rest of the season.”
So do we, Phillis. So do we!
