We’ve seen some good action and some great rivalries emerge through two days of the 2024 Masters. Some, are surprises, like Zach Johnson vs the patrons, Jason Day vs fashion critics, and Tyrrell Hatton vs Patrick Reed. Actually, Hatton vs anyone isn’t too much of a surprise.
Then you have your old standards like PGA Tour guys vs LIV guys and Greg Norman vs Augusta National. And then one tweet on Friday evening managed to overlap both of those.
Masters 2024: Jason Day confirms Augusta asked him to remove controversial vest
Fred Couples caught wind of the LIV CEO having to buy his own tickets to the event on the secondary market and he mocked all the LIV players for not stepping up for their commissioner.
13 @livgolf_league players in the field for @themasters and none of them could get @sharkgregnorman a ticket? Greg had to buy one? Next year if you need one Shark let me know.

Dagger! But as you can see, the 1992 Masters champ did extend an olive branch to his fellow World No.1.
Anyway, it’s been a bit of a tough go for Freddie this week as well. He called his play – greatly affected by a bad back – “embarrassing” and he had his Masters consecutive cut streak record broken by good mate Tiger Woods.
But, again, Freddie is a Masters champ so unlike Norman, he has a lifetime invite to Augusta National for Masters week. And that’s something that all the money in the world can’t buy.
