Patrick Reed made a wild ace at the par-3 12th, dubbed the Watering Hole, at LIV Golf Adelaide.

The 2018 Masters champion sent the 5,000 fans packed around the 151-metre 12th at The Grange Golf Club crazy when he made a three-quarter swing which sent the ball flying towards the hole. His shot spun violently to the left and dropped into the hole for the second ace at the party hole in three editions of the tournament.

Spectators lining the par 3 showered Reed with plastic beer cups as the Texan wound the crowd up even more.

Reed was congratulated by his 4Aces teammates Harold Varner and Thomas Pieters.

With more than 100,000 fans expected to come through the gates over three rounds at LIV Golf Adelaide, those on site at the 12th didn’t have to wait long for the chaotic moment given Reed was in the second group of the day starting his round at hole 11.

It was reminiscent of the 2023 edition of LIV Golf Adelaide when Chase Koepka made a dramatic ace which went viral around the sporting world.
