THISÂ is the risk you run at a US PGA Tour event. Stand anywhere on the course, and you need to be somewhat alert; an errant shot might find you.
That’s what happened at the AT&T Byron Nelson on Sunday. Except this fan, who was A) taking a video on his smartphone and B) standing very close to Bud Cauley’s line of play, probably wasn’t paying as much attention as he should’ve been.
Be that as it may, this is the nightmare. A golf ball whizzing your way is something you never want to see.

US PGA Tour pros rarely hit shots where you’re in danger. But it happens. Cauley didn’t hit a great shot here, but let this be a lesson to any spectator in a golf gallery: Keep your head on a swivel.
