Like the Genesis Scottish Open, the ISCO Championship is a co-sanctioned event between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, producing a different mix of players in the field this week at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky.
The overall purse is $4 million this week with the winner taking home $720,000 for his victory in the Bluegrass State.
Michael Thorbjornsen and Luke Clanton are two of the bigger names in the field and both tied for second place last week at the John Deere Classic. Thorbjornsen was competing in college at Stanford just two months ago and earned a direct path to the PGA Tour because he topped the tour’s university standings.
Clanton just finished his sophomore season at Florida State and enters the ISCO Championship fresh off consecutive top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour, something that hasn’t been accomplished by an amateur since 1958. He tied for 10th place at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, then last week shot 63s in the first and final rounds to tie Thorbjornsen and C.T. Pan for second place.
Other notable tour winners participating at Joel Dahmen, Kevin Kisner, Daniel Berger and Camilo Villegas.
