The excitement continues to build for the 2023 edition of the Cathedral Invitational, presented by Atom, with 50 days to go until the highly anticipated tournament.
To celebrate the countdown, the Cathedral Invitational has unveiled several new names who will compete in the unique and fast-growing event, with former US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy, current PGA Tour Australasia Order Of Merit winner David Micheluzzi and LIV Golf star Jed Morgan named among an extended field of players today.
Held at the prestigious Cathedral Lodge & Golf Club in Thornton, Victoria, from December 5-6, the Cathedral Invitational will boast a field of 50 invited players, which already includes the commitment of Cam Smith, Adam Scott, Marc Leishman and Gabi Ruffels to play the event in 2023.
Dimi Papadatos, Brendan Jones, Brett Rumford, and Nick O’Hern will also tee it up, with Victorian trio Todd Sinnott, Brett Coletta and Zach Murray adding some excitement for home fans, who receive an unparalleled and up-close opportunity to walk the fairways with these stars of the game.
Joining the growing field of invitees is rising star Cassie Porter, the 21-year-old from Peregian Beach in Queensland is looking to add to her victory at the 2023 WPGA Melbourne International. The inclusive nature of the Cathedral Invitational will also see world No.1 disability golfer Kipp Popert compete in the star-studded field, with one male and one female amateur also still be announced.
The tournament will feature a 36-hole format played over two days and the victor will walk away with a $100,000 prize.
The Cathedral Invitational provides a rare opportunity for the general public to experience the beautiful Cathedral Lodge & Golf Club and its prestigious surroundings, with action on Wednesday, December 6 open to the public for the only time in 2023.
