One of the most-established – and questioned – traditions in golf is that the person who makes a hole-in-one has to either buy or be shouted drinks afterwards. At this week’s DP World Tour event, however, which side of that script should play out has been made abundantly clear.

First off, congrats to Ugo Coussaud for making an ace on the eighth hole at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande during the first round of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters. Unfortunately for Coussaud, there doesn’t seem to be video of this special shot, but he got something else after his round: an insane amount of beer.

Have a look at this huge stack of beer cases that Coussaud received from the tournament sponsor:

His weight in beer? Yeah, Coussaud is going to be stocked up for a while. And, honestly, he deserves it. After all, it was Coussaud who made the hole-in-one. People should be buying/giving him drinks!

According to another post, Coussaud received 85 litres of beer, matching his weight in kilograms.

In any event, beers are on Ugo. Free beers, that is.
