When news broke that newly minted WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark would be playing in the LPGA’s upcoming pro-am at The Annika, both golf and basketball fans were thrilled. Clark had spoken publicly about her plans to become “a professional golfer” in the offseason, and The Annika pro-am seemed like the perfect place to find out just how much of that statement was in jest.

Unfortunately, Clarkies across America soon realized there were no plans to broadcast Clark’s pro-am round online or on TV. The only way to watch it would be in-person … in the middle of a work week … at 7 a.m. Tournament organizers and LPGA broadcast partners began fielding countless requests from fans to air Clark’s round, and in a shocking turn of events, they actually listened.

On Friday, Sports Business Journal’s Josh Carpenter reported that LPGA and tournament social feeds will now live-stream Clark’s range warmup, as well as post an in-round walk-and-talk interview with the former Iowa phenom. Golf Channel also announced plans to air ‘Golf Today’ 90 minutes earlier (11 a.m. ET) on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in order to provide highlights and live look-ins of Clark’s front nine with Nelly Korda and back nine with tournament host Annika Sorenstam.

It’s not a perfect solution—fans will still wish they could watch all 18 holes of Clark’s second-ever pro-am—but it is a step in the right direction and proof that sending angry emails can actually work. Just don’t send them our way, please and thanks.
