A runaway golf cart made quite a splash early on at the Travelers Championship. Literally.
We don’t know the full details, but video of the rogue vehicle has gone viral. Perhaps, there will be some super serious investigation (do golf carts have a “black box”?) as to what happened, but it really doesn’t matter, because it was quite a scene. And we can laugh about it now because no one got hurt. Although, one man came close!
The video captures a tournament volunteer make a move towards the unmanned cart as it headed for the pond at the par-3 16th hole at TPC River Highlands. He had visions of being a hero – but then he (wisely) decided to get out of the way of the barrelling object. Check it out:
Seriously, good call, mate. That thing had more momentum than LIV Golf right now.
