We’ve all been there before. You have a bad day on the greens and your first instinct is to get rid of your putter. It’s a natural reaction, and you should know that it also happens to some of the best players in the world.
Take Pablo Larrazabal. After a frustrating opening 72 at the Portugal Masters, Larrazabal threatened to toss his flatstick – by actually threatening his flatstick. Check out the “pep talk”/ultimatum he gave his Odyssey putter following the round:
“One more chance,” said Larrazabal, who found himself eight shots behind Day 1 leader Marc Warren. “Be nice to me.”
Larrazabal added this on Twitter:
Best long game of the season + worst putting pf the season = level par….. a lot of work to do tomorrow to be at the weekend

Pressure’s on. . . putter.
